Happy to have contributed some Middle Eastern music for the new Tom Hanks film “A Hologram For The King” directed by Tom Tykwer. The book “A Hologram For The King” was a NY Times best seller. The score was composed by Johnny Klimek who I have worked with before.
Happy to announce my new EP “Illumanado” is now out on Electrofone Music. It is now available only on Itunes. More digital outlets coming soon. No physical will be made. This is album is very ambient & intimate and like my other albums have I feel an interesting story of collaborations. I was lucky to find this un discovered artist called Nicodxmvs online & quickly became a huge fan of his work and colaberated on two songs with him who then turned me on to Cody Mauser who sang on one song “How I Feel”. Long time collaborator Jamie Muhoaberac of course added his magic on the album. While I was Siberia a few summers ago while performing at a festival in The Republic of Buryatia, I did some recording & writing with some amazing musicians there. Hope you all enjoy these songs, I am very proud of this album.
My new EP is coming along nicely very lush sounding…happy to be collaborating with my boy @nicodxmvs on a few tracks as well as my longtime friend collaborator Jamie Muhoberac. Will preview some new songs at my Sept 5th in LA @ Grand Performances and will post some music soon.

This is a remix I recently did for the amazing band Valravn from Copenhagen, Denmark. There remix album comes out in Feb 2011, but they were kind enough to allow me to share it early. This band really reminds me a lot of Nordic version my Niyaz band. Valravn’s singer sounds a lot like Bjork, she is singing in Faroese, the language of the Faroe Islands, melody style is inspired by Faroese and Icelandic traditional themes. The title means “Gone without being away”. I was told Faroe Islands have an history of many men that died on the sea, entire villages decimated of their male population, big sorrow and strong confrontation with the nature forces and “God”. So the song is a tribute to the ones gone, but not completely gone. I really love this band and hope you enjoy!Valraven- Carmen Rizzo Remix “Farin Uttan At Verða Yekk” (Gone without being away) by carmenrizzo
I am currently remixing the Danish band Egilstrøð is from the Faroe Islands, and sings with in Faroese and Icelantic traditional themes. Her voice is amazing! Will post the mix very soon. Stay tuned…
